A selfish skinny love

I can feel you when you walk into a room,
the loss of words and inability to speak
while my mind romps reassuring the brilliance of every star in the sky.
Others had days in the sun,
but we could only hold each other through the night.
Two lost souls loving each other’s scars,
believing as far as our innocent hope could.
We enjoyed the pain,
and we loved selfishly.
now i look at the stars,
and they looked back with envy.
